MAXMILLIAN Pension & Restaurant is located in the heart of the Lusatian Mountains, in the picturesque village of Dolní Světlá. The Lusatian Mountains are a small border mountain range, situated roughly midway between Děčín and Liberec in northern Bohemia. A small part of the mountain range in Germany is called the Zittauer Gebirge. They are a perfect link between the surrounding landscapes. The sandstone formations and rock towns have taken over from Bohemian Switzerland, the volcanic character and conical peaks rising from the wooded hills from the Bohemian Central Highlands, and the long ridges from the Jizera Mountains. They provide unusually good tourist facilities. From a very dense network of well-marked hiking trails and nature trails, to numerous cycle paths and renowned climbing terrain, an abundance of mushrooms, wonderful fishing, to ideal conditions for winter fun.

Cycling the Lusatian Mountains can be a challenge for most of us. So rent an e-bike and enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding countryside and explore the historical sights in full force. The SCOTT Aspect eRIDE 940 lets you ride for hours.
Nature
What is closest to us
A few hundred metres behind Dolní Světlá, the Brazilka nature trail with a restored wetland begins. From here you can go past the Krkavčích kamenů (Raven Stones) to Jonsdorf in Germany, known for the attractive Nonnenfelsen (Nuns) rock group with a protected climbing trail (ferrata) and to the Jonsdorf rock town with the old Mühlsteinbrüche.
Tourism
What is the most interesting
The biggest tourist attraction of the Zittauer Gebirge is the romantic ruins of the Oybin castle and monastery, which is about 10 km away from our guesthouse. You should definitely not miss a visit to the rock castle Sloup carved in sandstone rock. Do not forget to visit Samuel's Cave, which is about 400m from the castle. And on the way back, you can also visit the sandstone underground caves of the Hell's Mines, where the fairy tale "The Devils Are No Jokes" was filmed.
Rocks and swimming
Sandstone formations and swimming opportunities
There are many sandstone rock formations with various sculptures and rock reliefs of Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland.
You can also take advantage of swimming in the Olbersdorfer Erlebnisbad, the Trixi Park Großschönau aquapark or the sandstone quarry.

Things to do around the guesthouse
Our garden is at your disposal! Take a stroll around the stream or enjoy a quiet sit by the pond. You will find many relaxation areas that will always give you plenty of privacy. The garden terrace is only accessible to accommodated guests.
We will prepare a campfire for you, but before that you can play a game of badminton. A net court and bats are waiting for you.

In case of bad weather
Even inside can be fun, for example in bad weather. Inside the guest house, you are invited to the common room where you can play board games, billiards or enjoy the jukebox. You can also enjoy the private spa or books for lend.
